Thoughts around Pen Spinning World Records

Brief thoughts that I had in my mind for quite a long time, but never been able to transcribe it into words. As usual disclaimer, these are based on my observations in the pen spinning space and media. I cannot deny the possibility that I have mislooked, or been misinformed or simply forgotten that a particular phenomena that could easily refute against my thoughts below.

As the title suggests, this is about World Records in Pen Spinning.

Never had personal interest, but I do recognize that it has its place in the pen spinning community.

From a google search I have found out that there are some individuals who have managed to successfully register their pen spinning record achievements on the official Guiness World Records. One who did the most fingerpasses in one minute, and one who did the most thumbarounds in one minute.

Most pen spins around the thumb in one minute | Guinness World Records

Most spinning pen fingerpasses in one minute | ギネス世界記録

I found it interesting that the 1st World Record is amount of thumbarounds in one minute instead of how many thumbarounds has been done continuously under one minute. Like Wenyu's record, the general expectation is to do the tricks continously without dropping the pen in the process.

Another media I found was from Pearl where he has uploaded fragments of pen spinning world records scattered across the streaming websites, which were presumably collected into one video.

The above was just some discoveries I wanted to share before I got into writing this post.

kUzu G3 mod (Lazy Replica ver.)

I will skip all the details on how it has came to this structure.

Please note that measurements can be adjusted to your liking, personally you should adjust length as you adjust weight distribution to your preferences.

The mod spins decent, its lighter than the UPSB version. It unfortunately will not give the magical bust powers like kUzu. Mod is 18g and approximately 20cm.

Short summary of structure: Basically a kUzu G3 mod replica with elements of SEVEN G3 tip stacking. It is a lazy replica ver. because the final replica version is just too much of a pain to make. So I will explain that in a separate post with a story of how it became that way. The left one is the Lazy Replica ver. which will be explained in the tutorial below.

PS Storage Update February 24th, 2026/動画更新 2026年2月24日

Hello

It has been at least a year and a half since I updated my video storage of my past videos. So I am updating once again. Posting the link below as the link to find my skydrive seems to be confusing to some people.

Storage Update 2.24.2026

Just putting out some thoughts otherwise forgetten in the Twitter abyss.

Penspinning has become more diverse than ever today with multipen (Xp1h, Xp2h) becoming more prominent after Criswea! winning championship for World Tournament 2025. Meanwhile, I look at my own spinning, predominantly 1p1h spinning, thinking that it is too outdated. There is some part of me feeling meloncholic about the possibility that people will eventually transition to multipen more in order to have penspinning itself evolve as an art. Then there is the other part of me, obviously, being lazy to learn a new field of penspinning.

I have finally started getting the hang of powertricks, and see some potential to implement it in my G3 spinning. Hopefully they can be incorporating to my spinning in the upcoming CV submissions for 2026.

See you.

Tigres

Just a brief update on my skydrive with my most recent videos from last year.

I will try to post this every time I update my skydrive as it seems people are confused with where my videos are.

Please check the link below for download.

Recently from early this year, I have been filming with my kUzu G3 more often. For some odd occasion, I have been able to make some time for myself to indulge into filming, though spontaneous.

I have been able to submit to a few CVs on twitter which brought some pleasant suprises on my Twitter notification lol.

Hope I can continue producing videos.

Defining what "master"ing a pen spinning trick means for you.

As a beginner starting the peculiar hobby of penspinning back in 2010 December, I never particularly had a guide or asked anyone for guidance for it. More specifically, I never knew where to find the resources, as I never had the thought to google something on a search bar. All there was for me was Collaboration Videos and complilation videos of tournaments (prominently by Ellusion67).

Now, times are different: in almost every social media platform (YouTube, Tik Tok, Twitter, etc.) it is rather easy to find resources that can help you 'guide' to improve your own pen spinning. Examples include lists of tricks to learn, combos to learn, demonstration videos and tutorials.

It may be for that reason, but I feel beginners improve at alot faster rate than beginners 5-10 years ago, at least faster than the rate that I improved. This was apparent when I moderated UPSB and also in Penspinning Discords. I am honestly jealous to see these people learning faster than I ever had in my career, but I digress on that point. The topic I want to discuss about is what I often see/hear beginners say when he/she talks about his/her progress in: 'master'ing a trick.

Showering thoughts about hyp_notic_ and roles in Collaboration Videos

Hey

www.youtube.com

It's really been awhile since I willingly submitted to a properly organized Collaboration Video (Hereinafter, CV), and I am blessed to be able to be one of the cast of Herenz's recent CV, hyp_notic_

I think what really motivated me to film for this CV was the trailer which revealed the main gloomy part of the song (chorus?climax?idk). And it hit me that my spinning could probably blend in well with the song's atmosphere.
